It was L-shaped with a bar on the 23rd street side and a cafeteria on the 6th Avenue side. I photographed there quite a bit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10507655.post-55336978461791845822008-07-14T17:17:00.000-04:002008-07-14T17:17:00.000-04:00Well welcome! I just received a wealth of information from a relative that I will be posting here soon.

I also don't think Dubrow's had any cafeterias in the Bronx, but I know at the height of Dubrow's success there were a few other cafeteria chains which may have been similar.Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08695149244974199579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10507655.post-6907211165863854312008-07-14T16:45:00.000-04:002008-07-14T16:45:00.000-04:00So glad to see this blog. Does anyone remember that?

Dubrow's, I remember, used to have great veal breast. Sort of bony but good. The ambience alone was worth the trip.

I remember well when Dubrow's shut in 1985. Not sure about the one on 23rd. I guess it was around that time.

In the Bronx, where I grew up, we used to have cafterias on Fordham, Jerome near Burnshide, 161st Street, and of course 167th Street. I believe the owner of the last one was robbed and shot shortly before it closed. The one on 161st was around quite a while, perhaps into the early Nineties.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
